My husband and I were introduced to Italian Greyhounds many years ago. It was love at first sight and our family has never been the same since. Our Italian Greyhounds are very much a part of our family life, joining us in everyday activities and events. They have full run of our home, their own bedroom and a big fenced in back yard to romp and play in. We wouldn't have it any other way as each and every one is very special to us.

 

Italian Greyhounds are sometimes referred to as IGs or iggys. They are the smallest of the sight hounds, averaging 13" to 15" to the withers. They are elegant, graceful, very affectionate, loving disposition, devoted, intelligent, easy to train, quick learners and very playful well into adulthood.

Italian Greyhounds make an excellent house companion. They are not an outside pet. They need people contact and love to be where their owner is; following you everywhere throughout your home, snuggling up on your lap as you relax, burrowing down under a warm comforter with you. They do shed, but very little, making them an excellent pet for those that may have allergic reactions to other breeds. IGs do not like cold or wet, which makes litter box training them a major plus. <additional IG info>
